Quick Update

Dossier is almost done! Are you getting tired of hearing that?? :)
We made some major advancements this week (bank letter, employment letter) and then came to a crossroads yesterday. We either had to spend all day finishing things up, or take time to enjoy each other a bit before Matt leaves for India (today, Sunday). We decided to go ahead and wait. We have a couple of things left to be notarized and I need to draft our letter to the Ethiopian government. I will be working on getting our draft approved while Matt’s in India. So – a 2 week slow-down, but not a complete stop. We did also make headway with USCIS – but things are not completely resolved. We went to the office in LA (wow…what an experience!) and were actually connected with a real person who appeared fairly certain they could help us! We are hoping and praying…but not holding our breath. We’ll see what happens! You can still be praying for us in this area – specifically that my name will get changed and that they will still be able to find my fingerprints (under my maiden name). Oh…and we still haven’t decided whether to request one or two children. We’ve vacillated a lot, and want to make sure our decision isn’t purely emotional or pragmatic. Hopefully the Lord will give us confirmation while Matt is in India.

Speaking of which, Matt is leaving for India today! He will be back in 15 days, Lord willing. Please be praying for him and his teammates as they go to serve alongside some brothers and sisters there. He will be doing outreaches with college/business people and also with people (mostly kids) from the slums. Please be praying for us at home too – 15 days is a long time without Daddy! We will miss him dearly! We’re very excited for the opportunity God has given for Matt to tell Indian people about Christ and to do some teaching at the church there. Matt loves this kind of thing, so it’s a real joy for him!

Thank you for your prayers and encouragement! We appreciate all of you taking this journey with us!! :)

Hey! We LOVE your blog!!! It’s a beautiful testament to God’s grace in your lives. Thanks for encouraging us and keeping us updated on your process. We’re praying for you guys.

Glad to hear things are going well with your dossier. I finally feel like things are kind of rolling with ours. I’m going to try to get our I-600A going this week too. How long ago did you begin on your dossier?
